Skiing In Iran

Most people in the world don’t know Iran for winter sports, although it has 13 international ski resorts. Some of the famous ones are Dizin, Shemshak, Darbandsar and Tochal near Tehran and the other ones are near Ardebil, Tabriz, Isfahan and Shiraz.
One of the most popular ski resorts is Dizin that is located in Alborz Mountains, near Tehran and was selected as an international ski resort by international Ski Federation due to its snow quality, long resorts, and a lengthy ski season (late November to mid-May).

Dizin is a popular resort for summers too, for grass skiing and climbing. There are two main hotels, nineteen cabins and five restaurant in the resort for skiers. Of course, there are plenty other accommodations nearby.

Darbandsar resort is the newest resort in Alborz Mountains. It’s located in a nice village near Tehran. It takes takes 40 mins drive from tehran to Darbandsar. The ski season starts from December to mid-April.

Shemshak resort is the second famous ski resort near Tehran and one of the unique features of this ski zone is that you can enjoy sliding down the steep slopes under the starry night because the light projectors brighten the resort.
Sahand ski resort is the biggest ski resort with six months ski season, and is near Tabriz on skirts of beautiful Sahand Mountain.

We highly recommend you to combine your ski trip with one of the most famous Iran historical tourist attractions, or desert diving or enjoying the silver beaches in the Persian Gulf.
