Tehran , is the capital of Iran and Tehran Province. With an estimated population of 8,429,807 it is also Iran's largest urban area and city, the largest city in Western Asia, one of the largest in Southern Asia, and the 19th-largest city worldwide.


Contemporary Tehran is a modern city presenting many structures, of which the Azadi (Freedom) Tower and the Milad Tower have come to be symbols of Tehran .

Globally Tehran is the 19th by city population, 56th by the size of its GDP and 29th by the population of its metropolitan area.


Throughout Iran's history,Iran capital has been relocated many times, with Tehran being the 32nd national capital of Iran. Persian is the city's mother language.The majority of people in Tehran identify themselves as Persians.

Tehran has a semi-arid, continental climate. Tehran's climate is largely defined by its geographic location. It can be generally described as mild in the spring and autumn, hot and dry in the summer, and cold in the winter.


As a large city with significant differences in elevation among various districts, the weather is often cooler in the north as compared to the flat southern part of Tehran.
Although compared with other parts of the country Tehran enjoys a more moderate climate, weather conditions can sometimes be unpredictably harsh.

Some of the well-known museums are National Museum of Iran, Sa'dabad Palaces Complex, Glassware and Ceramics Museum of Iran, the Carpet Museum of Iran, Tehran's Underglass painting Museum, Niavaran Palace Complex, and Safir Office Machines Museum. The Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art features the works of great artists such as Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol.

Tehran is also home to the Iranian Imperial Crown Jewels, called the Imperial Crown Jewels of Persia, it is claimed to be the largest, most significant and valuable jewel collection in the world.

Tehran has a young population and it is considered as one of the modern cities of Iran interms of its culture, accessibility to different technologies and the affluency of people . Though the population experience a significant income inequality and you will notice this when you come from the north (more affluent ) to the south (less affordability) of tehran .

you can find local cafeterias , most commonly named ''Coffee Shops'' everywhere and some of them in the north are considered too Pricy .

you can have Iranian local Foods in some good chain Resturants as Hanni, or Hotel ferdowsi buffet . but you can find kebabs resturants more often .

Tehran is one of the best places if you like to go for Hiking , just half anou drive , will get you to the skirt of Draband mountain which is up north of tehran. another starting point for hiking is Darake and the other one is Tochal.
